Becky and Nicky were married at the stunning browsholme hall, in lancashire.

They married in a beautiful converted barn surrounded by rolling hills and loved ones.

This duo chose full day coverage from getting ready to the evening party… Here are some of the highlights of their day.

This wedding was full of people of all ages and even Becky and Nicky’s lovely dog!

there was a lovely ceremony at the stunning browsholme hall, and a super fun reception.

something great about this wedding:

This couple weren’t used to being photographed, but with my guidance they fully relaxed.

We worked together to ensure that they had everything they wanted on their day, with an ever important kind approach. Our communication prior to the day helped us understand one another, so we were on the same page when the special day arrived.

becky and nicky’s reflections:

"We cannot thank Carys enough for the beautiful photographs from our wedding day. She made us feel relaxed from the moment we met. We knew we had made the best decision choosing her as our photographer and after seeing the photos we couldn’t be happier. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much Carys."

Jim and Charlotte

/ Crawley Registration Office /

jim and charlotte were married in crawley’s registry office followed by a casual pub meal with their nearest and dearest.

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

Jim and Charlotte had a little ceremony a few days prior to having their wedding party. They chose to have a very casual and laid back celebration in a local pub with a huge beer garden. There were loads of hugs, groups of friends and family, garden games and sunshine to make their day just blissful. I was with them for 6 hours in the afternoon and captured a range of natural and some posed photos too. Charlotte arrived to the pub with her father and was wearing a golden dress she had made herself! It was so special, what a lovely group of people and what a fun day to be part of!

Charlotte and Jim’s Reflections:

“I got so many compliments from guests about how lovely and approachable you are! It was really special to have you there with us! ”

something great about this wedding:

This day was such a mix of sweetness, fun and relaxation. With a beautiful intimate wedding venue at the stunning Mansion House as you can see above ^, then the couple took all their guests surprise axe-throwing at ‘the hilt’ in central york. It was then time to head to NCEM for their confetti, lawn games, laughter and lovely food and not to forget the photo booth and a ceilidh to finish the night. what a beautiful wedding full of joy!

Christina and David’s Reflections:

We honestly feel like you were the best possible person we could have had with us and will absolutely be singing your praises (on as many platforms as we can haha!) We couldn't recommend you enough.

angela and heidi

/ east riddleston hall - keighley, yorkshire /

angela and heidi were married in keighley, in an incredible barn style venue.
Their friend was their celebrant, the rain chucked it down for half of the day, but the smiles were never-ending.
Angela and heidi chose the full day photography package.

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

I visited both the home of Angela and Heidi where Angela, their dog and Angela’s friends got ready, then I visited Heidi’s parents home where she and close family were getting ready. It was such a special part of the day I felt honoured to photograph.

After the gorgeous ceremony the room was turned around quickly by the staff and people were able to mingle and chat. Despite the rain - we were able to get some outdoor photos under an archway of a nearby barn which looked lovely. Then, it was time for the food, speeches and lots and lots of laughter.

something great about this wedding:

This wedding was so easy going and lovely. We were so lucky that the rain eased off into the evening so the guests were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens here. What an incredible venue to photograph at… and what a lovely duo of lovers to witness become wife and wife! I truly love this job :) Thank you for the trust A+H!

the ceremony in enfield registry office was intimate and they amazed everyone with their personalised vows

something great about this wedding:

This wedding was so full of joy, the fun loving brides really brought out everyone’s laughter.

Having a small wedding was super intimate and allowed everyone a real chance to chat to each other and by the end of the day, it really felt like I was part of their family too. Such a special day!

and so they begun their marriage by eating cake, laughing and dancing all night long

- knaresborough & Harrogate wedding photography -

Jess anD LIAM were married at THE old swan hotel, in HARROGATE. Their whole wedding was held here, via the fabulous team at old swan weddings. THE CEREMONY, RECEPTION AND PARTY were held ACROSS TWO LARGE BALLROOMS.
jess & Liam chose a full day coverage of documentary style wedding photography, in the heart of yorkshire.
Here are some of the highlights of their day.

The bridal photography was lovely, as the party of ladies got ready in the bride’s Grandma’s house, (a second home to her and her cousins whilst growing up).
later, they all made their way to to the Old swan for the wedding itself where the groom awaited.

We couldn’t help ourselves but to get a groom reaction photo, seeing the bride for the first time. Jess is a beautiful lady, and for a gal who likes to wear comfy clothes and casual style - it was a bit of a shock for her groom, Liam to see her looking like a total princess. Was a sweet moment to photograph.

something great about this wedding:

To symbolise starting a new life together, this inseparable duo walked down the aisle together, as one.

Beautiful!

Group Photos

After the ceremony, we headed outside to grab some group portraits. Here are a few examples - You can opt for as many or as few group shots as you’d like.

Couple Photos

Of course, couple photos are an important part of most people’s wedding days. Bare in mind, you don’t need to have a clue what you’re doing for me to capture some truly gorgeous photographs! We can be as quick or long as you like, have one setting or a few locations, do it all in one go or split it to later in the day. Whatever you’re comfortable with, I’ll work around. As for poses, they can be simple as the couple photos you see here - just two people in love. All you need to do is enjoy it :) I promise it’s never as scary as it might first seem.

Jess & Liam’s Review:

“We used Carys for our wedding back in June. Neither of us are very comfortable in front of the camera however Carys talked to us before the wedding, put us at ease and made us both feel so relaxed. Carys is a pro at documenting the day, you don't even know she's there!
She's fun, energetic and knows what she is doing. We loved our photos so much we asked for more and she provided a great offer.
Thank you Carys! You're a star!”

- berkshire wedding photography -

Charis and Mike were married in great coxwell, berkshire. They married in a beautiful, rustic barn and chose full day coverage. Here are some of the highlights of their day.

The barn was lowly lit, and so impressive. only a few days prior, The great coxwell barn had been just that, a barn. The whole place was DIY style, which brought such a genuine, sweet community spirit to the ceremony.

charis and mike chose to have a combination of Black & White and full colour photos for their documentary wedding photography.

something great about this wedding:

Despite the appointed celebrant going into labour that morning… a friend of Charis and Mike stepped in last minute and did a wonderful job.

Each guest had a chance to bless the rings (passed along a string) before they were placed on the newlyweds fingers.

Now… It’s party time!

charis and mike’s reflections:

Thank you for the amazing photos, they’re all so great! We loved having you there, various people said to us that out suppliers were just the same as us - chilled and not too stressy - so thank you for that!

Jess and Tom’s Reflections:

“We couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding. Carys took lots of amazing photos without getting in the way or over-directing, but did provide the directions we needed for a couple of posed photos that we had wanted. As a couple that often feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, Carys' directions and approachable personality really put us at ease. We had so many comments from guests about how lovely she was and we are so pleased we found her! We really can't thank Carys enough and would absolutely recommend her. We feel very lucky to have had her as our whitby wedding photographer- thank you Carys!”

Jo and Chris were married in the gorgeous coniston country estate and spa, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. They married in a pretty ceremony space within the venue and chose a full day’s wedding photography.

— COUPLE PHOTO’S —

I always make couple’s feel comfortable during a couple’s photo session, and if we have 5 minutes for a quick shoot (as we did here) or half an hour for varied poses / places - we will work together to make some gorgeous wall-art-ready photographs!
-
Everyone who has stayed in England for 2023 will know one thing - it has been a very rainy summer. Despite being married on the 22nd July, the rain was on our heels all day long. The main attraction of this venue is the incredible lake views right behind it.
However, we were determined not to be stopped! We captured their couple shots out the back on a patio with the lake view in the background.
We managed to find a break in the rain long enough to capture these - I always check the weather with the best apps to ensure we can stay flexible during your special day.

something great about this wedding:

The family of this couple were so supportive and kind, welcoming with hearts of gold.

I can honestly say these were probably the most relaxed bride and groom I’ve ever come across! A match made in heaven.

Chris and Jo’s Reflections:

“Thanks again for being our photographer … you did a fantastic job. Lots of positive comments and smiles from all our guests. Thank you so much for taking some amazing photos. We had an amazing day and we’re glad you could be a part of it. Now we have the (very) difficult and fun decision as to which ones we get framed to put up around the house.”

something great about this wedding:

Years ago, this was the first wedding I photographed. With Kieran and Nana’s trust, I was thrown into a whole new world, armed with experience of events and documentary work.

If it weren’t for them, I would have never found my undying passion for the wonderful world of wedding photography. So thank-you!

Kieran and Nana’s reflections:

"Carys captured our day perfectly. We weren’t looking for the usual formal wedding shoot with lots of posed photos so her ‘documentary style’ and candid shots were just what we wanted. She listened to all our ideas and was great at keeping in touch throughout."

the incredibly happy-go-lucky duo Abbie and Liam were married at york’s registry office. They married in a lovely, simple ceremony on a sunny autumn day, friends gathered to catch up, some with new babies, whislt eveyrone awaited abbie and liam’s arrival. The pair had already done a ‘first touch’ then ‘first look’ prior to the ceremony and entered their day as one. abbie and liam chose a full days coverage. Later they would celebrate in the national centre for early music (NCEM).

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

After a lovely moment in the gardens it was time to head for the transport to the York Registry Office - where their wedding ceremony would take place and their guests awaited them.

After a lovely and simple ceremony we all headed to the NCEM - a gorgeous venue which was originally a church and has retained so many beautiful features.

We were blessed with periods of sunshine and the perfect outdoor temperature. Guests had a great time chatting outside, listening to the piano play, and seeing the beautiful decor before the wedding breakfast and speeches began.

something great about this wedding:

My favourite thing about this entire wedding was the personalities of Abbie and Liam. Both of them are kind, open, warm people. Liam is super easy going and friendly and Abbie is hospitable, caring and super fun… they are both so full of life - we got on really well and the whole energy of the day was just magical and easy breezy. These two are a wonderful, dynamic duo who will stand the test of time. I can’t wait to see where their love story takes them and to Abbie and Liam - I am so honoured to have been a part of this gorgeous day.

Abbie and Liam’s Reflections:

“The photos are honestly fab Carys!! You absolute HERO. Just downloaded the extra pictures and they are brilliant!! We absolutely love them, you’re the best. Thank you.”

Caitlin and Dave were married at The Leeds rhinos staidum in headingly, leeds. They married with a casual ceremony surrounded by 120 of their friends, family and children. caitlin and dave chose a full day coverage, starting in their family home and going into the early stages of the party part of the evening. Here are some of the highlights of their day.

Despite a few rainy showers throughout the morning, the day was full of light.

The Brides sister awaited her arrival with an umbrella to protect her hairdo. Not long after the ceremony started with the guests ready for the big moment.

something great about this wedding:

Dave (the Groom) has been an avid rugby supporter throughout his whole life and played himself for many years. Growing up and spending so many moments in the Leeds Rhinos stands watching his favourite team play was so important to him and helped shape him into who he is today - they just had to get their group shots in the stands and couple photos out on the pitch. A super fun and really special moment for this rugby-mad family that I was honoured to be part of.

It’s party time!

The guests had already gotten themselves inside for a drink and mingle by the time we came back from photos… the room was buzzing with excitement. With quite a large wedding party and plenty of fun loving rugby lads, there was laughter everywhere you looked. Old friends and new intertwined in Leeds Rhino’s amazing Headingly Stadium. The bar area was beautiful and had plenty of different seating areas for guests to unwind in. Naturally, the rugby was on in the background which caught the attention of several guests. We spent about an hour in that room before slowly making our way through to the main room where their ceremony had been, which had since been turned around ready for a lovely meal, speeches and just a wonderful evening ahead with a very loving family with three beautiful and sweet children. You could feel the harmony in their lives - and what a day to celebrate their love!

Sarah and chris were married at the lazaat hotel, in cottingham, east riding of yorkshire. They married in an intimate little ceremony in the hotel and chose a full day’s coverage. Here are some of the highlights of their day.

- Getting ready -

- THE CEREMONY -

These two are so in love, you could see it in everything they did. The only way I can think to summarise them as people and as a pair is to highlight their kind natures. They both love to make other people feel good, included and they don’t judge. It feels like the kind of person who needed someone to share that quality - I’m so pleased they found each other. Life really does have little miracles! The way they treated everyone they loved was so beautiful to watch. Their ceremony was no disappointment. Simple, sweet, intimate and a wonderful start to a wonderful day. Here are the highlights of their ceremony!

- couple photos -

Their wedding was a bit of a rainy October day, but we managed to find a break in the rain to grab some lovely photos outside in the grounds of the hotel.
I am always very mindful of how people feel during photo-shoots, making sure that everything is as easy as possible, to capture the best photos of you and your partner you’ve ever had! Here are some snaps of Sarah and Chris being in love and fabulous.

Something special:

Since sarah and chris are both passionate about dance, they had a lot of dancer friends. meaning the wedding was not short of ryhthm, a full dance-floor and loads of fun! it was such a special time and so lovely to watch everyone passionate. they invited me to have a go and I was hooked - so much fun!

- the party -

What a wonderful celebration this was. As you can see by the smiles, there was a lot of dancing, laughter and love in the room. With a relatively small guest list the wedding was intimate and everyone had quality time with Sarah and Chris. We took plenty of group shots in a side room to avoid the rain, then the rest of the evening was candid / documentary style. What a perfect afternoon / evening to kick start their marriage.

Harry and Ellie

/ yorkshire wedding photography /
-
harrogate registry office & hotel du vin

Before the ceremony ellie got ready in the beautful hotel du vin, harrogate.
Then, harry and ellie were married in harrogate registry office among their closest family and friends.
they chose a half days coverage.

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

I met Ellie in her hotel room in the beautiful Hotel Du Vin, Harrogate. Her two little dogs, her mum and make up artist were all helping her get ready for her big day. Myself and the videographer were there to capture a few details before she would later meet Harry and family at the registry office.

The ceremony was lovely. After, we went outside to the courtyard for confetti and some more photos. Then Harry, Ellie and myself took a few photos whilst everyone else made their way to the hotel for reception drinks. Harry and Ellie had hired a beautiful, timeless car to whisk them away so we had to get a few snaps with that too! Then it was time for the reception drinks, for everyone to meet each other and the pups of course!

Lastly before I finished up for the day, I made sure to get plenty of details photos of the room they had hired for their meal. It was so well done - and the most impressive part was that they’d done it all themselves. Harry, Ellie and family had been up late the night before perfecting every last detail. It looked so professional and was full of personal touches. It was just right for their wonderful day with their loved ones. Thank you to Ellie and Harry for the trust, the laughs, for being great sports with the photos and for letting me walk your pups when I was finished. Yes, pretty unusual that your photographer does that but I am such a dog lover I couldn’t resist!

something great about this wedding:

How in love the couple were, how easy things flowed between them. But also - a special mention just has to go out to their beloved dogs who were just looking so cute in their outfits, both bought to tie in with the theme colour of their Mum and Dad’s wedding day.

Harry and Ellie’s Reflections:

“I [Ellie] initially met Carys at the Leeds wedding fair and fell in love with her relaxed, candid style of photography. When I showed my now husband the fabulous photographer I had found, he realised he went to school with her. Carys was very reassuring and informative throughout the process as Harry and I are not overly confident in front of the camera. She took our input regarding the types of photos we wanted and recommended some poses we hadn't considered as there's a significant height difference between us (4'10 and 6'6). She was very professional on the day and it helped massively that our two fur babies were very welcomed. Carys went above and beyond on the day, including scaling a construction truck to get a photo. We couldn't recommend her enough. She's fantastic.”

- bermondsey, london wedding photography -

Kate and Jon were already legally married over in the states before having a confirmation ceremony in london which I photographed. after living in london for many years, they had friends over here unable to attend their u.s. wedding… so it seemed only right they would celebrate ‘across the pond’ to COMMEMORATE their love on both sides of the atlantic. One thing about being a travelling documentary wedding photographer, is that you get to capture so much diversity, but one thing that always unites - is love itself. What an incredible line of work i have!
Their lovely ceremony was held in st mary magdalen’s church, in bermondsey, london. They chose a half day’s coverage.

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

We stuck to mainly candid photographs of the couple and their guests throughout the four hours I spent with them. This way I was able to capture the essence of the day in a very hands-off manner. Kate and Jon chose to not include any formal group shots but we did capture a few casually as the afternoon played out. Their ceremony was so lovely and heart felt, with hymns, prayer, lovely spoken words of the vicar and vows to one another. We then all made our way to a lovely pub on Tooley Street, close to Tower Bridge called ‘The Kings Arms’. Everyone was able to chat, laugh and catch up whilst I captured it all naturally. What a lovely afternoon and a beautiful way to celebrate their love.

Ben and michael were married at ox pasture hall and hotel in the scarborough area, north yorkshire. They married in asweet and simple ceremony amongst the rolling hills of beautiful yorkshire. With their chihuahua pedro to make the day extra special.

Here are some of the highlights of their day.

-Post - Ceremony -

Luckily, the sun was out in full force and everyone was able to enjoy time outdoors laughing and chatting.

something great about this wedding:

Both Ben & Michael had requested that their pup, Pedro, would be in as many photos as possible. He did get quite tired later on in the afternoon so had to go to the hotel room for a rest, but whilst he was out he was the best doggy model I could have hoped for. We caught some brilliant shots that his pawrents will cherish forever. More dogs at weddings please!

- Speeches / Meal -

Ben and Michael’s Reflections:

“Overall, Carys was fantastic - we hired her to be the photographer for our wedding. Arranging our first meeting was simple and we instantly hit it off - she understood the vision we had, showed us a range of examples of previous work and gave us a lot of confidence she would capture the day exactly how we wanted.

On the wedding day, Carys felt like a natural part of the day. She interacted with guests where appropriate to make them feel comfortable. She captured a wide range of shots from the more traditional posed shots to group shots to candid, natural shots - understanding clearly how to get everyone's best lighting, angles and taking advantage of the natural landscape of the venue.

After the wedding, we received a large batch of pictures to choose from, giving us control over the final selection. From there, Carys edited our final selection, removing a dog lead, shifting lighting and focus, and a whole range of other edits which we know would have taken a long time to do.

We are thrilled with Carys's work and would highly recommend her as a photographer for your special event.”
